Evan Brau
Evan started playing guitar at the age of 11, when his friend at school suggested they start a band. The band never came to be, but Evan was now on the road to becoming a career musician. During lunch breaks at school Evan would Jam with his PE coach, who was a blues singer and bassist along with another student who was the drummer. This is when Evan fell in love with the blues guitar, he was 15 years old. At the age of 17 Evan wrote his first song titled "Set My Soul On Fire" for his high school girlfriend, and it debuted at a school pep rally as a resounding success. After graduation Evan went off to college at UCSB to study music composition and was avidly writing more songs as his life would so inspire. In his sophomore year at college, Evan founded the band Munkafust and released a cd titled "Way Too Much Inertia" which became an instant success. "Inertia" actually outsold Nirvana's "In Utero" in it's first week of release at the local record store, and Munkafust was selling out venues in downtown Santa Barbara every weekend. The band embarked on a nationwide college tour, and was booked on tv shows and radio stations across the country and even into Canada. California became the band's bread and butter state, selling out venues from San Francisco to San Diego on a monthly basis. Munkafust never signed a major record deal, but continued to tour and released four more full length cd's independently, "Unveiled", "Welcome To Playtime", "Live Acoustic" and "Down For Days" respectively. After a nationwide tour in support of Rod Stewart in 2001 Evan felt the strain of the road getting to him, particularly with a new baby boy back at home in Los Angeles. He decided then to focus on producing and creating music for television and film, seeing that it would allow him to support his new family and continue to make music. At the same time he continued releasing music as Evan Brau and producing multiple genres of music for a variety of different projects, including Undergreen, Manic Automatic, The Chillaxicans and Brahms and Brau to name a few. Evan's music has appeared in over 45 different television shows and films over the years and his catalog is constantly growing. Most recently Evan has worked on FOX's Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2 and 3 as a writer and producer, and is currently working on a release with his mentor Richard Rudolph.
